It HAS been a while.

“Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen.”

The amount of crazy going on in my life right now is actually enjoyable. I’ve made a number of salient accomplishments in the past 6 months, and I’d like to share. Not to talk about myself, but to humor you of the joy of unexpected results that can come from expending a tremendous amount of daily, organized effort. Disclaimer: this is the making the biggest mess in your room before getting all your shit together, organized. If you’re in the middle of your mess, don’t lose hope and keep calm!

  1. I flippin’ bought a house!
The spending fasts are finally paying off, literally. My social life has consisted of running and doing other inexpensive (usually free) things because being a homeowner has been in the back of my mind for so long! Don’t let anyone insult your frugality. Be humble, give to others, and stop buying things you don’t need.  Pay off your debts, find one big long term goal you’d like to set and make short term goals that can take you there.
  2. Half-Marathon Number 2
Honestly, a little nervous about this one. I haven’t been training as hard, but I know deep down I’ll make it through. Everyday after work, I tell myself to go running, yet I end up NOT at the gym. Does this happen to anyone else? I will see it through at the end of this month. My goal is Mile 1-10 and NO WALKING. Can I do it?
  3. Grad School
Less than two more classes until I can say I only have one year left of grad school. I might have started the countdown a little too early, yet it may be one of the few things getting me through! I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA despite working full time and the other extraneous activities going on in my world. I’m the only African American woman in my class which is also pushing me to make sure I go above and beyond. Grad school has been such a roller coaster from professors to papers to finances. I have learned a ton and am still figuring things out. The balancing act is becoming more difficult and nerve-wrecking as the paper plates are turning into fine china!Processed with VSCO with g3 preset
